Sharing his thoughts on the match, Odubiyi Joseph, the attacking midfielder for Vining United FC, described it as a challenging battle that required their utmost effort to secure victory. He humbly attributed their success to divine grace, saying, “It was a little bit tough but we did all we could to win the game. God was with us, and that is why we won.”
Looking ahead in the tournament, Joseph expressed his personal target, which is to lead his team to the top of the league standings. He emphasized the importance of their upcoming matches, stating, “We need to win the next two games so that we can top the league. We will do more when we get back to training – practice more, fight more, and we’ll get it done.”
When asked about his football idol and mentor, Joseph proudly revealed that Lionel Messi is his ultimate inspiration. He holds the Argentine superstar in high regard, stating, “Everybody knows him – Lionel Messi. I think he is the best in football history. That is my mentor, nobody else. Only Lionel Messi.”
