Leading sports administrator, Vincent Akinbami has urged the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to set kick-off dates for the FA Cup in order to have a seamless football calendar year for Nigeria.
Akinbami tasked the Nigerian football body to make these arrangements with each States who will be participating in this year’s competition in order to finish the season the same time with NPFL, Sports247.ng writes.
“Concerning the FA Cup and then the league, how will it be managed with Rivers United playing in the CAF tournament and date set for May, it’s high time IMC asks state FA to start thier own cup matches so that we can end up with the league almost at the same time,” he advised.
“By first week of June, the FA Cup finals should be played if the NFF quickly give dates for the State FA to start their own knockout matches,” Akinbami clarified.
