The National team Coach of Nigeria, Gernot Rohr who led the Super Eagles to a 3rd place finish in the 2019 AFCON was seen having a chat with the Sport Minister at Abuja earlier this week has revealed what took place in his discussion with the minister.
With just six months left on his current deal, the Super Eagles Manager has voiced his confidence over his continuity with the National team beyond the expiration of his contract.
“Its true that I met with the Sport minister earlier this week, we spoke, not about my future but about football generally, we shared opinions and talked about the next plan going forward”, Gernot explained.
Speaking further, the National team tactician added that he is focused on the AFCON qualifiers, “We have so much on our sleeves at the moment, my target is the AFCON qualifiers, we have won our first two matches against Benin and Lesotho, there are so much left to work on, the goals we conceded were so cheap and few we scored ourselves”.
“We have a good squad, the players are doing fantastically well, Aribo, Osimhen and Iwobi are in a very good shape, we need them to stay on top of their game”, he said.
” I am not scared, am happy with my job, the project at hand, am looking forward beyond my contract expiration, the support has really been amazing over the years, am very glad”, Rohr ended.
