Buruj Sports Academy in the early hours of this morning defeated Eko Football Future Stars in a warm-up game played inside the Agege Stadium.
Utility player Abdulbaseet Adebayo scored the lone goal in a very enthraling gam after series of attacking intents by the players who are using the game to prepare for their upcoming trip to the United Kingdom.
The current champions of English Super Cup attempt to increase the tally in the second half but were denied by poor markmanship as they missed so many scoring chances.
The equally talented Eko Boys responded in the closing stages but the defence line of Buruj Boys stood their ground to record in a fine with which will put them in good mood as the countdown to departure time begins.
The CEO of the academy Salaudeen Waheed while reacting after the final whistle also hailed the spirit displayed by both sides, adding that his boys are learning day-by-day.
He also challenged the coaches to work on the lapses ahead of departure time.
“It was a good game by two sides that want to play good football. Our boys showed that they are getting set to shine when we travel to England for the Super Cup and I am particularly happy that Baseet proved his mettle among the pack. Don’t forget that he is one of the players who got the nod of Borehamwood FC coaches after excelling in Manchester last year. He is one of the players we are expecting to unleash on our opponents in this year’s edition again.”
