Nigerian striker, Victor Osimhen, is set to become Africa’s most expensive footballer with a reported €81m (£73.6m) move from French Ligue 1 side Lille to Serie A giants Napoli, L’Equipe reports with the transfer set to be finalized on Thursday, after both clubs reached an agreement for the player.
Victor Osimhen is now one step away from joining Napoli. Personal terms agreed – he’s ready to sign until June 2025. Napoli are now working to complete last details with Lille and his agents then the deal will be finally completed according to Sky Sports, Veteran Italian journalist, Fabrizo confirmed.
With the deal, Osimhen will topple Nicolas Pepe’s record, when he moved from Lille to Arsenal for £72m last summer.
The Lille goal scorer has netted 18 goals for Ligue 1 club in his debut season and is currently the club highest goal scorer for the 2019/2020 season in which the league was awarded to league leaders PSG.
