Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen has named the header he scored against English side, Chelsea Football Club as the best goal of his career so far.
Osimhen scored the aforementioned goal when he was still at his former club, Lille in their 2018/2019 UEFA Champions League match against Chelsea. Osimhen headed into the net a beautiful header to cancel out Tammy Abraham’s opener but a late goal by Williams condemned the French club to a 2-1 defeat.
The U17 World Cup winner made the disclosure in an interview with NFF TV, He explained that the goal against the West Londoner is his most cherished goal because his friends actually wanted him to score against Chelsea regardless of the result.
“My most cherished goal is the one I scored against Chelsea.
“A lot of my friends who were Chelsea fans sent me messages before the game saying they did not care if Chelsea beat us Lille or not, they just wanted me to score.
“They really wanted me to actualize my dream, and that was one of the best moments in my career.”
Osimhen is one of the 25 players currently in Super Eagles’ camp in Abuja as Nigeria begins its 2023 AFCON Qualification campaign against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Thursday.
