Chelsea of England winger, Victor Moses has become the third Nigerian player to be linked with a deal at Fernebahce of Turkey, as the Istanbul-based Turkish Super Lig club appear eager to revive the past Nigerian tradition, sports247.ng has learnt.
The club that once paid the wages of Uche Okechukwu, Austin Okocha, Joseph Yobo and Emmanuel Emenike have of recent been linked with John Mikel Obi and Odion Jude Ighalo, but now their focus is on Moses.
This is sequel to reports out of The Land ot The Ottoman that indicate that Fenerbahçe have joined the race to sign Moses this month.
The Lig giants appear ready to rival and even outbid the English Premier League quartet of Crystal Palace, Cardiff City, Huddersfield Town and Fulham, who have all been linked with Moses this month.
Moses has been frozen out of Chelsea’s main team following the arrival of Maurizio Sarri as The Blues’ gaffer in the summer, which has made it imperative for the winger to move on.
It is now left to be seen if Moses would be ready to leave England, as Fenerbahce sporting director, Damien Comolli aims to use his high levels connections in London to lure the winger to Turkey.
Comolli is credited with the discovery of former Arsenal stars Kolo Touré, Emmanuel Eboué and Gaël Clichy.
He also once worked as director of football at Tottenham Hotspur, who are based in the same city with Chelsea – London.
He is now forwarding a loan deal that will keep Moses at The Yellow-Navy Blues outfit until June 30.
However, one thing that could turn Moses off from joining Fenerbahçe is that they are struggling this season and sit 17th in the 18-team table.
