Victor Moses is back in England with a renewed focus on Premier League football, having joined Luton Town.
At 33, Moses has returned to the Championship, eager to help Luton bounce back to the top flight after their recent relegation, Sports247 reports.
“I’m very excited and I can’t wait to get started,” Moses said upon his return. “It’s a pleasure to be here, and it’s a good time for me to be in the country and start to enjoy my football again.” Moses, who previously left England’s second tier in 2010 after leaving Crystal Palace for Wigan, is determined to elevate Luton Town’s standing.
Victor Moses, who has enjoyed a trophy-laden career across England, Italy, Turkey, and Russia, watched several of Luton’s matches last season with his friend and former Chelsea teammate Ross Barkley. Reflecting on the Town’s previous Premier League campaign, Moses remarked, “I thought Luton did well last season and were just a bit unlucky sometimes. With most of the boys playing in the Premier League for the first time, it was a good experience for them.”
Despite Luton’s relegation, Moses is optimistic. “Football is like this sometimes,” he said. “The boys did fantastically well, but this season’s target is to focus more on each game as it comes and try to get back into the Premier League.”
With nearly 550 career appearances, a collection of Premier League, FA Cup, and Europa League medals, and experience in World Cups, AFCON, and the Champions League, Moses brings a wealth of experience to Luton Town. “It’s time for me to start working hard and help the lads with the experience that I’ve got,” he said. “If we work together as a team, we can achieve whatever we want this season. It’s all about desire, and the ambition is there.”
Moses’ priority is to enjoy his football. “I just want to play football,” he emphasized. “Whatever minutes I get, I just want to help the lads. That’s the most important thing. I’m fit, ready to go, and I want to help the team win as many games as we can this season.”
As for what supporters can expect from their new signing, Moses is clear: “Hard work, dedication, desire. I’ll do the best I can to help the lads and the fans win games. If we can pull it together as a team, we can achieve whatever we want.”
