Victor Mboama’s goal wasn’t enough as Enyimba fell to a shock defeat to relegation threatened Mountain of Fire and Miracles Football club, a further dent to thier continental dream.
The lethal forward gave Fidelis George side the lead with an assist from Ekong to increase his goal tally to 16 for the season, level with Rivers United Akuneto.
MFM restored parity through a cooly slotted penalty by Alabi, Nduka added a second in the 75th minute to complete the comeback.
Reacting after the game, Mboama didn’t shy away from his goal scoring exploits, the highest goal scorer battle between him and Akuneto.
“Scored my 16th goal of the season against MFM FC today , though not the result we wanted but we will keep fighting for the fans, the badge and for the club till the season ends,” he vowed.
Up next for Enyimba is an away trip to Sunshine Stars.
