“Football brought us together, Soname believes in me and I’m using this opportunity to say a happy birthday to him and I’m proud and privileged to be a friend of his, he’s a giver and a good man,” said the man nicknamed the Prince of Monaco, Victor Ikpeba as he turns up to celebrate Hon. Kunle Soname at 56.
Victor Ikpeba also took the opportunity to present the Beyond Limits and Remo CEO a jersey of his which he has kept for about 20 years to mark his special day in Ikenne.
“It’s great for someone to remember where he’s from in life. He’s doing so much in his community through football, giving back to the society. If we had more Nigerians doing what he’s doing, Nigeria will be a better place. Go out and touch lives in your community,” Ikpeba said.
“I’ve not been able to celebrate him this way in the past as I’ve know him for over 15 years. He saw me and said ‘Victor, I believe in you’ and it’s now an history as I’m an ambassador of Bet9ja,” the ex-international said.
“If there’s someone to turn around Nigeria football, he’s the one to do it. If tomorrow he wants to contest, I’ll support him. I know him so well and how he thinks about grassroot development. We need people that will run football that have passion for it,” Ikpeba concluded.
