Boniface, who netted his first two goals of the Bundesliga season, was instrumental in Leverkusen’s dominant performance.
His brace and assist made him one of the standout performers of the weekend, earning him a place in the prestigious Team of the Week.
He joins an attacking trio alongside Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush.
The midfield features Vincenzo Grifo, Florian Wirtz, and Baku Ridle, while the defensive line is comprised of Benjamin Henrichs, Castello Lukeba, Diogo Leite, and Marius Wolf. Union Berlin’s Frederik Ronnow rounds out the squad as the goalkeeper.
This is not Boniface’s first recognition in the Bundesliga Team of the Week, as he was a regular feature last season until an injury sidelined him during the second half of the campaign.
Boniface’s impressive start to the season signals his determination to be a key figure for Bayer Leverkusen as they aim for a successful Bundesliga campaign.
His form will also be a boost for Nigeria ahead of their upcoming international fixtures.
