Vice Chairman Of Rivers State Teqball Association, Halim Zaccah, Rewards Outstanding Players And Teams At 2024 Rector’s Cup Closing Ceremony

The Vice Chairman of Rivers State Teqball Association, Mr. Halim Zaccah Adebola, on Wednesday, July 31st, fulfilled his promise by giving cash rewards to deserving players and teams during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic Rector’s Cup.

Having made the promise during the opening ceremony of the event, Halim Zaccah gave the sum of N20,000 to Kaaliu, who emerged as the best player of the male football event.

Zaccah, a former Vice Chairman and Captain of Aristo All Stars of Port Harcourt, also rewarded the male and female football teams of the School of Science and Technology for emerging champions in their respective football events.

The Patron of the Rivers State Football Coaches Association gave the female team N30,000 upon realization of their participation in the competition while redeeming his pledge to the winners of the male football event with a cash prize of N100,000.

Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic field was the first pitch used by the Rivers Whales Teqball team for their training before the Yakubu Gowon Stadium was allotted to them by the Rivers State Government.

Reflecting on the importance of supporting local sports, Zaccah remarked, “Our youth are our future. By encouraging their athletic endeavors, we not only promote healthy competition but also foster a sense of community and pride.”

Teqball is played like table tennis, with two separate teams or individuals on either end of the table attempting to win points by hitting a football back and forth at their opponents.

The event, which showcased the talent and dedication of the participating teams, concluded with a renewed sense of commitment to sports development in Rivers State.
