After the loss to Osun United on matchday four of the NNL which has been cancelled after it was rocked with reports of violence, Vandrezzer FC continued their good form in 2021, especially since arriving in Lagos as they remain unbeaten after getting a 1-0 win over Ekiti United in matchday five of the NNL at home.
Vandrezzers’ Ekpo Godwin spoke to Sports247 on his team’s performance and shared his excitement. “We’re really happy today to be able to get the three points, so so happy,” he said.
“We know there’s a lot of pressure on us to qualify and get to the NPFL, but then we think we’re ready for the task ahead,” Godwin said as regards the pressure of having another Lagos team in the NPFL.
Kolawole Daniel’s 22nd-minute strike was enough to hand the Lions of Naija a maximum of three points at Agege Stadium and even to add to their joy, Godwin feels the ordered replay of their game against Osun United means justice has been served.
“We’re happy because finally justice has been served. What happened in Osun State was not a welcome development for our football, the violent conduct there was very very bad and we are grateful that justice has been served.
