As they aim to take the global Football World by storm, Vandrezzer Services, Owners of Four-month old Club Vandrezzer FC currently competing in the NNL 2019/2020 season have added another feather to their name.
It is the acquisition of a slot each in the Nationwide League Division 1 & 3 for the 2020 season.
The Company through it’s Proprietor Mr Joe Udofia made the revelation during the closing ceremony of the 2019 Joe Udofia Unity Cup last week at the St. Theresa Primary School,Use Abat in Ibiono Ibom LG of Akwaibom State.
“Today we have Vandrezzer FC making waves across the globe. We’ve also bought a slot in the Nationwide League as we are creating opportunities for the Youth to stay competitive after this tournament. So we are participating next season in the NLO and this team will serve as the feeders to Vandrezzer FC”.
Udofia further explained the drive behind the running of the club, Vandrezzer FC
“We are completely set out for this. Many persons may ask questions on the money spent so far. The reason is simple. We have seen an opportunity. There’s a gap and all we are doing is to bridge the gap. We strongly believe the returns will come in soon, only time will tell. The Nationwide League has about 300 teams and most of Nigerian players that are sold abroad came from the teams in this league. We are interested because this is football business, sports business and that’s what it is”.
Also in attendance was the Chief Operating Officer of the NLO Mr Shola Ogunnowo who confirmed the new development.
“The Nationwide League is the grassroot league in Nigeria where over 300 clubs are. Joe Udofia is setting the path right by giving back to the community. I spoke to the Chairman of the League on what he is doing in the community via the Joe Udofia Unity Cup and his desire to continue the idea in a more professional way.
The Chairman in support has reiterated his support and that of the league body by giving him an opening/slot in the lower cadre of the Nationwide League (Division 3) so that more youths of this community can be engaged positively in the game of football and feel more responsible as they see themselves as part of national events.”.
Shola stated that the Minister of Sports Mr Sunday Dare is willing to receive the club and all it’s good plans for Nigerian football.
“We want you to graciously accept us,the Nationwide League as we see you as the pioneer of Youth development in Nigeria. What you are doing here is huge as information has already gotten to the Minister of Sports and he is already waiting to meet you because all he planned to do is what you have started here”.
In Shola’s words “The sky is the beginning of what Vandrezzer Services will do in Nigerian Football”.
Vandrezzer Services have now acquired two slots in two tiers of the Nationwide League; Division 1(NLO) and Division 3 accordingly.
According to the Chief Operating Officer Shola Ogunnowo, the NLO season is scheduled to start in March 2020 after which a date for the start of the Division 3 will be made known.
