University of Agriculture, Makurdi’s football team coach, Priscilla Mlumun Vande is targeting global glory for the country, following her appointment to tinker Nigeria’s squad to the World Universities Games (FISU) football event.
Coming so soon after her conquest of the maiden Higher Institutions Football League (HIFL), sports247.ng gathered that Vande’s next aim is to win the world title as well.
The holder of a degree in Physical and Health education and graduate of National Institute for Sports (NISports), Lagos said she has always aimed high since becoming a certified soccer coach.
Although Vande was the only female coach in charge of a team among 18 universities in the HIFL contest, she was able to come tops with UAM.
Vande’s day of glory came against University of Calabar, which her side dumped 5-4 in penalties’ shootout at Agege Stadium, Lagos, after which she set higher marks for herself to achieve.
She expatiated: “It has always being my dream to play at the World Universities Games. Having earned a ticket by virtue of our victory at the HIFL, I’m looking forward to winning the gold.”
