Elche of Spain goalkeeper, Francis Odinaka Uzoho is tipped for a shock move back to his parent club, Deportivo La Coruna, but it will be a close call in the January window.
With the ongoing market billed to shut on Thursday, sports247.ng can report that La Coruna are in a race against time to pull off a coup that would see Uzoho stage a dramatic return to the team he starred for in the top-flight.
Although it was only last summer that Deportivo loaned Uzoho to Elche, who are now their rivals in the lower flight Segunda Liga, a recall appears plausible for the youngster, as he has lost his starting spot in his present team.
The 20-year-old Uzoho, who joined Deportivo in January 2017 from Aspire Academy in Qatar, conceded five goals in three appearances for Elche and was subsequently demoted.
His woes hit a height with the arrival of former Spain youth international keeper, Edgar Badía earlier this month, which left the Super Eagles’ first choice watching from the bench for Elche’s last three matches.
Consequently speculation is now very rife that Depotivo are thinking seriously about recalling the UAE 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medalist this week.
However, should his deal at Elche be cut short, Uzoho will be loaned to another club for the remainder of the current season.
