Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has called on his side to “make a statement” and take all three points in Saturday’s crunch 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Libya.
The Eagles defeated Seychelles 3-0 in their previous match in the qualifiers, but the Elche goalkeeper has insisted that the hard work ahead of Friday starts now.
Libya hold a narrow lead over the Super Eagles in Group E and Uzoho has called up on his team to step up and take responsibility at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
He told Sports247.ng: “It will be all about being professional, getting three points on the board and trying to entertain. The hard work starts now.
“We know it will be a much tougher game. We’ll be expecting a real cauldron from the North Africans. But we will be fine.
“They will be desperate to beat us. So everything’s against us, but we’ve got the players to handle the situation and get the three points. Everyone has to take responsibility. We have to keep 11 men on the pitch because it’s going to be a pressure situation. We want to make a statement.”
