Director of Utility Sports Football Club, Lawal Abiodun has revealed his team’s preparation following their program in Mayflower, Ikenne.
They did very well scoring 17 goals and conceding 2 goals with an unbeaten run and also had a good run in the MSS just concluded pre-season tournament, got to the semi-finals and were knocked out through penalty shoot-out.
They also participated in a tournament in Ijora and lost in the semi-finals to Musketers FC.
Reacting to their performances in a chat with Sports247, he said, “it has really been good for the team, the lads are in good shape as they prepare for numerous scouting programs and the upcoming Surulere Regional League.”
“So we are expecting to see the best of the boys, their ability, composure, and improvement. They are a group of young players with new recruits who are performing well too.”
The captain of the team, Robertson Kingsman also praised his team’s performances, “Last year we were struggling but now we have some really good players, young and talented that scouts can see and take note of, wingers and strikers giving in large returns of goal, it’s been so good.”
Kelechi Nwoke has been in deadly form also Akpan Michael both have scored 21 goals in between them.
“Coach Sunday Ilevbare has been in a good mood with the boys and that has greatly impacted in their performances paying off with massive win rate,” Abiodun remarked.
The duo of coach Sunday Ilevbare and his assistant coach Daniel Ajikobi have been doing tremendously well with the boys on and off the pitch and how well they can go will be tested when the Surulere Regional League kick-off.
