Nigerian 3rd assistant coach, Usman Abdallah has pledged his support and as well indicated interest to stay with relegated Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL side, Katsina United after their relegation to the Nigerian National League, NNL.
Abdallah, in his statement, has indicated that he would not run away as expected of coaches of his caliber but to stay, go back to the drawing board and bring the team back to the NPFL.
It was a tough battle for Super Eagles assistant coaches, Salisu Yusuf and Usman Abdallah as both coaches and head coach of NPFL sides, Kano Pillars and Katsina United respectively, got relegated to the NNL. Kano Pillars were relegated, no thinks to the point deduction imposed on Salisu Yusuf’s boys by the league management company for their misconducts during league games.
The third assistant coach of the Super Eagles has said there is no need to run away from a relegated side. ” We shouldn’t be running away. Why should we run away? Because things are getting difficult we should start running away? If administrators, players, coaches, and those financing the team run away, what will be the faith of the team then? It makes no sense.
“We have to come back, sit down, and fix the team back. Put things right, go back to the drawing board and things will be well again.” Katsina United accumulated the most point,48 among relegated teams, finishing 17th on the log, making the 4th team that will be doing business in the lower cadre come next season along with Heartland of Owerri, Kano Pillars, and MFM.
