After a disappointing and surprising loss for the Super Falcons in the first game and a draw against Portugal, the Coach Randy Waldrum girls have set their sights on the next game against the United States of America.
The Super Falcons lost to the Reggae Girlz of Jamaica 1-0 after a good display but losing concentration at a point in the first game of the United State of America Summer Series which ended the team’s seven-match unbeaten run and then went on to pick a point in a goal-fest 3-3 draw against Portugal but Super Falcons defender Glory Ogbonna believes the team has learnt from their mistakes.
“It wasn’t the result we expected but that’s football, you win, lose or draw as one of the three is at stake”, Glory Ogbonna told Sports247. “There are a lot of new legs and there wasn’t enough time to train together and know ourselves but nonetheless, we’ve been able to know our mistakes we’ve tried to correct them,” she said.
The Edo Queens captain further assured supporters of a positive and better performance in the next game against USA.
“We’re hoping and positive that our next game against the USA will be much better than the other games. We’re going to give a better performance and we’re fully positive on that,” she concluded.
The Super Falcons will now face the USA in the last game of the Summer Series on Thursday, June 17th at the Q2 Stadium.
