Kigali’s Amahuro Stadium may be filled to capacity with partisan home fans for Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Rwanda, if the words of a striker in the hosts’ squad, Jojea Kwizera are anything to go by.

Sports247 gathered that Kwizera, who plays for Rhodes Island FC in the second-tier United States League (USL), has sent a passionate appeal to his country’s fans to troop out in large numbers for Friday’s game.
The 26-year-old striker, who was born in Democratic Republic of Congo but got his breakthrough into USA’s soccer scene as an undergraduate at Utah State University Eastern and then Utah Valley Wolverines, believes massive support from the stands will help Rwanda spank Nigeria on Friday.
Sports247 further reports that victory for Rwanda would keep The Amavubi top of the group’s qualification table, with a mammoth ten points, while leaving Nigeria suppressed with three, and Kwizera is quick to point out that the pressence of many fans in the home arena would help the squad use their advantage to the fullest.
“I’ll like to invite everyone to come out and support us this Friday. They should come to spur us to defeat Nigeria in our World Cup qualifying game.
“We already have an edge on the group table, and we have a really big advantage in playing at home. So, we’ll love for everyone to come and show us support,” is the appeal from Kwizera, who previously played for Ogden City and CF Montreal.
