The league’s primary objectives include keeping undergraduate footballers fit, instilling a sense of competitiveness among clubs, and providing students with hands-on experience in modern sports administration and coaching.
The UFL operates with twelve teams that battle it out in a regular league format and while the league has consistently followed this format, exceptions were made for the 2019/2020 and 2020/2021 seasons due to time constraints, leading to an abbreviated format.
