Union Saint Gilloise, a prominent Belgian top-flight team, is seeking to strengthen its attacking force following the departure of Victor Boniface to Bayer Leverkusen.
The club, known for its successful transfer deals, has set its sights on talented Nigerian striker Akor Adams, who has been making waves in Norway.
Last year, Union Saint Gilloise made headlines when they secured the services of Victor Boniface for a club record fee of 2 million euros from Norway’s Bodo/Glimt.
However, just a year later, they sold him to Bayer Leverkusen for an impressive €20 million, making it the largest transfer fee in the club’s history.
Now, Union Saint Gilloise aims to repeat its success by turning its attention to Norway once again.
Akor Adams, with his impressive performances at Lillestrøm SK, has caught their attention. With an astounding 15 goals and two assists in just 15 games, the 23-year-old Nigerian talent has proven himself as a formidable attacking force.
Union’s management has reportedly identified Adams as the perfect replacement for Boniface and is actively working on securing the deal.
Standing tall at 1.90 meters, Adams is under contract with Lilleström (Norwegian D1) until December 2024, with a market value estimated at around €4 million.
Should Union SG pursue Adams and agree to pay his market value, he would become the most expensive signing in the club’s history, surpassing the record-breaking fee spent on Boniface just last year.
The club is determined to make another shrewd transfer move and continue strengthening its squad for the upcoming season.
