Umar Sadiq grabbed a goal and an assist for UD Almeria as they saw off CD Castellón 3-1 at home in a LaLiga 2 encounter on Saturday night, Sports247 reports.
Sadiq created the opening goal of the game for Almeria in the 26th minute with a lovely chipped pass for Jose Corpas after evading a couple of challenges.
He got his name on the scoresheet late in the second half to put his side ahead after the visitors had equalised earlier on through Jamelli.
With 12 minutes to go, the number 9 rose highest to meet a deflected cross from the left and placed his header to the far corner.
The goal marked his 11th league goal of the campaign in 20 matches for Almeria.
Jorge Cuenca added Almeria’s third four minutes later to put the game to bed.
Sadiq who has been nominated for the LaLiga SmartBank January player of the month award strengthened his case to win the award with yet another impressive performance.
