Cadet National team, Golden Eaglets’ assistant coach, Nduka Ugbade has disclosed that the technical crew has already outlined plans for the next phase of their preparations for the 2019 African U-17 Cup of Nations.
Ahead of their trip to Tanzania later in the year for the competition, Ugbade told sports247.ng that the Eaglets’ crew are gearing up towards the next phase of their camping.
Ugbade, however, revealed that it will not be business as usual for players in the squad, as he says even those who were part of the qualification success in Niger Republic will have to stay on their toes.
The former defender, who captained Nigeria’s pioneer Eaglets’ squad to win the China ’85 FIFA U-16 World Cup, said new players are welcome to challenge for shirts in the team to Tanzania 2019.
Ugbade added: “Players who failed to make the squad to the WAFU zonal qualifiers will be given a look in again.
“There will be keen competition for shirts. We want to ensure that the best legs are picked to represent the country in Tanzania.”
