Canadian rapper, has lost $450,000 wager on Israel Adesanya to win back his middleweight title from champion Dricus du Plessis at UFC 305 in Perth on Sunday Morning after, the South African retains the title by submission.
Drake would’ve walked away with $855,000 if Adesanya beat du Plessis but he ended up losing, suffering his first submission loss at UFC 305.
Du Plessis caught Adesanya in the face in the fourth round and wobbled to the ring, Du Plessis secured a follow up takedown, took his back, locked up a rear-naked choke, to become the first man to submit the ‘Last Style Bender ‘.
A few hours to the fight Drake shared a picture of his betting slip on Instagram, with the caption: “Always with Izzy”, predicted a win for Israel but it went the way.
Though Drake has won money on Adesanya a couple of times, this makes it the second time Drake will be losing money on Adesanya.
He lost a whopping 1.6 million dollars when Alex Pereira defeated Izzy at UFC 281.
Drake Also backed Adesanya to defeat Sean Strickland and lost $1.4 million after placing a bet 500,000 dollars on a victory for Izzy but Adesanya lost to a unanimous decision as Sean Strickland retained the title.
