FC Udeze, led by Ifeanyi Udeze, secured a 2-0 victory over FC Elaho in the second leg of the Ex-Internationals Cup.
This win marks their second consecutive victory over FC Elahor, following a 4-0 triumph in their first encounter.
Udeze, who had previously joked about his inability to ‘spell allow’, managed to score two goals in this match. When asked about the reduced scoreline compared to their first encounter, Udeze attributed it to respect for their opponents.
“We had to talk to our boys about the importance of respecting elders,” Udeze explained. “In a game like this, it’s not good to play against your elder without showing respect. So, out of respect, we limited our score to just two goals.”
Udeze emphasized that the team’s focus was not on the number of goals, but on securing a win to advance in the tournament. “We know that it’s not about the number of goals that will qualify us, but just a win,” he said.
With this win, FC Udeze advances to the second round of 16. Udeze acknowledged the increasing competition but expressed confidence in his team. “The competition is getting tougher, but our boys have done well. We’ll keep motivating them,” he stated.
This victory underscores FC Udeze’s strong performance in the Ex International Cup and sets the stage for an exciting second round.
