Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze has stated that coach Gernot Rohr should come up with a definitive stand on Villarreal enterprising winger Samuel Chukwueze amidst talk of strong interest from Flying Eagles coach Paul Aigbogun who expressed desire to have him feature for the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U20 world cup which starts this month in Poland.

In a chat with Sports247, Udeze urged the coach to make his stand known on time to help the Flying Eagles coach know what his plans with Samuel Chukwueze are and this will help even the player settled in his projection as to which tournament he will be attending as well.

“It depends on the coach, I cannot suggest anything now because it is the coach who knows what his plans are. Chukwueze is U20 he can play for the Super Eagles as well as the U20 team.

Everything depends on what the coach wants, I believe that coach will not want to risk the player if he wants him at the AFCON and the earlier he does this, the better for the Flying Eagles coach as well.”

Nigeria’s Samuel Chukwueze is eligible to play at any cadre of the national team above 17 and was also present when the U23 team qualified at the expense of Libya to the final round of qualifier for the 2019 U23 AFCON.
