With the crucial match looming, Eucharia stressed the need for the players to play with maximum intensity and determination, treating the encounter as if it were a final.
Eucharia emphasized the importance of maintaining an attacking mindset, urging the team not to rely on their first-leg victory but to instead focus on dominating the game from the start.
“I am happy with their win at home. It puts them at an edge.
But that shouldn’t be a yardstick for not doing well there.
If I’m the coach, I will not encourage any defensive play. At this stage, the best way to defend is to attack.”
She cautioned against adopting a passive approach and encouraged the players to approach the match with confidence and aggression.
“Let them not play as if they have won any leg at all.
They should approach that game as if it is final.
They shouldn’t go with the hope of let me secure a draw.
It will be dicey, and anything can happen.”
With the outcome of the tie finely poised, Eucharia warned against complacency and urged the Super Falcons to remain proactive throughout the match.
She emphasized the unpredictable nature of football and advised against settling for a draw mentality, urging the team to aim for victory.
“So they should go with the hope of winning South Africa there because we have done it over the years, and it is possible.
So when they have that as their target, at worst, they settle for draw, but they shouldn’t go and say, “Let’s go and pull a draw something.” That would be dicey.”
In conclusion, Eucharia reiterated the importance of maintaining a winning mentality and urged the Super Falcons to approach the game with determination and conviction. With a spot in the Olympics at stake, she emphasized the need for the players to give their all and leave nothing to chance.
