Vanung University maintains their 100% Winning Streak in the Second Round of the UBA Div 2 Championship with their talisman Humphery Gabriel and Jay West earning Double-Doubles to see off hard fighting Taiwan University 64-45 on Tuesday Afternoon.
The Lions came from the back of a treble Century Wins after seeing off Southeast University of Science and Technology 110-70 on Sunday Afternoon.
Humphery ‘Gabee’ Gabriel hit 10 Points and 8 rebounds combining well with Jay West who dropped 14 points 6 rebounds and 4 Assists. Xin Wei Continued to shoot from downtown as he dropped three 3 pointers to finish with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist.
Vanung University Rested on Monday which seems to have given the lads some fresh body to face off a Taiwan University with their vociferous fans solidly behind them on Tuesday.
Taiwan University came into the game on the back of three wins and it was a winner take as both teams seek to remain undefeated.
The trio of Humphery, Jay, and Xin Wei took the game right from the tip-off to the Opponents combining beautifully. Gabee dunking right under the basket with Jay and Xin Wei firing from Long Range unsettled the opponents early as the lions raced to a 26-19 lead in the first quarter.
Backed by their fans, Taiwan University returned after the interval and resisted Vanung’s Threat closing up the tie and restricting the threat from the Lions.
The Lions Maintained their Stronghold all through till the final buzzer with Humphery Gabriel Finishing top scorer with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 4 Assists. Jay West dropped 13 Points 10 Rebounds while Xin Wei finished with 17 points and 5 rebounds as the Lions ran out with a 93-57 win.
The Lions will return on Wednesday afternoon 2:30 pm Local time to seek to keep their unbeaten run alive as they consolidate their position on top of the 6th group.
