U20 World Cup: Flying Eagles to focus on goal scoring as they intensify preparation

Flying Eagles coach, Paul Aigbogun says his team will work on converting chances into goals as they prepare for friendly matches against Hoffenheim, Leipzig and Red Bull Salzburg ahead of their opening match against Qatar in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

This is coming after the Flying Eagles suffered a 2-1 loss to Saudi Arabia in a friendly in Vienna on Sunday.

Aigbogun who claimed his team had learnt vital lessons in their loss said his side had a lot of chances but failed to put them away.

“We were unlucky to have lost against the Saudis. Our focus will shift to conversion of opportunities because we want to make an impact at the FIFA World Cup.

“There are a few other areas that myself and my assistants noticed and we will work hard at these when we get back to our training camp in Germany.”

The seven-time African champions are back to their base in Bad Goegging Munich, Germany to continue preparation for the FIFA U20 World Cup which starts on 23rd May in Poland.

Nigeria will contest Group D of the biennial tournament alongside Qatar, Ukraine and the United States.
