The Flying Eagles continued their preparations for the upcoming FIFA U20 World Cup with a 3-1 win over the U19 side of VFR Aalen on Wednesday.
The match saw Swedish based midfielder, Henry Offia continue his sparkling form as he opened the scoring from a through ball by Tom Dele-Bashiru in the first half. It was Offia’s third goal for the Flying Eagles in as many games.
Meanwhile, the home side restored parity to ensure the scoreline remained 1-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Bournemouth midfielder Nnamdi Ofoborh scored his first goal for Nigeria in a spectacular way to restore the lead. He dribbled past two defenders before putting the ball past the goal keeper.
Nigeria completed the job when a goal mouth scramble from a corner kick allowed Rosenborg BK defender Igoh Ogbu to make it 3-1.
This is the Flying Eagles first victory in their preparatory games, as they were held to a 3-3 draw by SC Freiburg in their opening game and lost 2-1 to Saudi Arabia last weekend in their second test game.
