U20 FIFA World Cup: Tsunami in F/Eagles camp as Aigbogun drops 5 foreign players

Coach of the Nigerian under 20 side, Paul Aigbogun, has on Thursday pruned down his pre FIFA U-20 World Cup training camp in Germany by dropping 5 foreign-based players ahead of the official release of 22-man list for the tournament which kicks off next week in Poland, sports247.ng exclusively gathers.

 

Total number of 12 invitees were dropped from the squad including six players who were part of his team at the Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
sports247.ng learns that five players who represented other nations before switching allegiance to Nigeria were also affected by in the axe

As tournament kicks off next week, former Enyimba tactician is now set to name close to 12 new players for the Poland 2019 campaign later this month. According to the soft spoken gaffer, good number of those who did not play at the African championship would be given chance in the final plans. He said it is part of his efforts to beef up the squad to win Nigeria’s first under-20 title.

Sports247.ng has exclusively gathers that some of those that have desserted the Flying Eagles’ Monarch Hotel camp in Bad Gogging, Germany on Thursday were Everton winger, Korede Adedoyin, Manchester City midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Shelley Community FC teenager, Mashkur Tagwai and Watford winger, Jayden Bennetts.
West Ham United academy, Daniel Toma also left early Friday, alongside Bournemouth’s Nnamdi Ofoborh, who, however, said he is committed to the team’s FIFA U-20 World Cup programme if included by Aigbogun.
