In his remarks, Bosso acknowledged that despite the disappointment of certain players not being selected for the Super Eagles, their performance at the U-20 level has been commendable.
He cited examples of other African teams, such as Senegal and Cote d’Ivoire, where players who had previously competed in the U-20 category went on to represent their senior national teams.
Reflecting on his role as coach of the U-20 team, Bosso emphasized his commitment to nurturing young talents and building a formidable squad for upcoming tournaments.
He reiterated that his primary focus lies in preparing the team for the WAFU competition, with the ultimate goal of qualifying for the Nations Cup and subsequently the World Cup.
Bosso concluded by expressing his determination to justify the team’s efforts to Nigeria, highlighting the significance of identifying and developing players who will excel at the international level.
“As usual, we will do our best to justify ourselves to Nigeria, but the most important thing is for us to build a team for the WAFU.
Because from WAFU, they qualify for the Nations Cup, from the Nations Cup to the World Cup. So the whole African game is for us to have an idea of the player that will be used for WAFU.”
As the coach of the U-20 team, Bosso’s vision extends beyond individual player achievements to the collective success of the team in major tournaments on the African continent and beyond.
