Ahead of their final group A game at the ongoing CAF U-20 African Cup of Nations against Nigeria head coach of Niger Republic Ismaïla Tiémoko has stated that his boys will do everything possible to ensure that they book a semi final and World Cup ticket in front of their home fans at the expense of others.
Host Niger is yet to win a game at the tournament and is third on the table with two points after two games where they failed to hold on to their lead first against South Africa in their first match and against Burundi in their second.
Speaking ahead of the make or mar fixture against Nigeria’s Flying Eagles Tiémoko said; “Impossible is not Nigerien, We will be entitled to a fair game and very open as it is the third match that is synonymous with qualification or elimination. We will make every effort to beat Nigeria to snatch the qualification”
Nigeria will need a minimum of a draw to progress to the semi finals but coach of the team Paul Aigbogun has called for his wards to be focused and get the needed win as having a mindset of getting a draw might prove counterproductive in the end.
The game will be officiated by referee Boubou Traore from Mali to be assisted by Samir Gamal Saad and Firmino Bassafim at the Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niamy.
