Following the proposed British Mega Bout, Tyson Fury’s promoter Frank Warren has some exciting news for boxing fans all over the world following his confirmation that the WBC heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury will fight Anthony Joshua next, a fight that all fans want to see as it will give the division an undisputed champion and serve as a blockbuster event.
Warren confirmed ongoing negotiations with Matchroom, he said, “He’s made that very clear, even before he faced Povetkin. All we’re interested in is getting to face Anthony Joshua after he gets through his next fight. That’s the only heavyweight Matchroom has we’re interested in,” after Povetkin tested positive to coronavirus.
As scheduled, Anthony Joshua will face IBF mandatory Kubrat Pulev on December 12 in the UK. It will be a difficult fight for ‘AJ’ but nonetheless, one that many will expect him to get through. Tyson Fury will fight on December 5 against Agit Kabayel. Although, there is yet to be any confirmation about the same, ‘The Gypsy King’ will be fighting someone by the end of the year.
Provided the two get through their next two fights, then fans could actually see the fight happening. A time-frame for the fight is, however, very difficult to predict. The earliest it could be is April 2021. Although it all depends on the way their next bouts in December take place although no one will want the mega bout behind closed doors.
If the fight will be at least in the middle of the next year; maybe by then, the UK will allow fans to attend sporting events.
