Tyson Fury urges heavyweight rival Anthony Joshua to face him in December blockbuster if trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder falls through

Tyson Fury has explosively called out Anthony Joshua and urged the heavyweight titan to face him in a unification bout this December as the two-time world champion lashed out at his rival by urging him to ‘grow a pair’ and step into the ring with him in just four months, providing his trilogy bout with Deontay Wilder is further disrupted.

Both fighters are already committed to other showdowns with Joshua set to face mandatory IBF challenger Kubrat Pulev first but Joshua is yet to set a concrete date for that fight after it was pushed back as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

And Fury’s rematch with Wilder also remains uncertain, meanwhile, due to quarantine restrictions around the globe and tight measures on allowing spectators to attend events.

The impasse may allow Fury and Joshua to clash instead with both fighters based in the UK, and the Gypsy King appears just as keen as ever to make their ‘Battle of Britain’ scrap a reality.

Fury said on BT Sport: ‘If Wilder doesn’t happen, let’s do Joshua in December. Let’s get it on. I’m ready to go now, I’d have fought him in that ring tonight. I’d still kick his a***, any time of the day. Hopefully they grow a pair and want to fight the Gypsy King.”

‘If I was in their position, I’d have had my chance at glory to go to America and fight Wilder.

‘But they didn’t take it and I had to come out of retirement set about him a couple of times – take the No 1 spot, take all the glory. He must be sitting down thinking ‘that could have been me’. But it wasn’t. It’s their own fault.”

‘Grow a pair, come see the champ, and I’ll sort you all out. I’m just waiting here patiently.’

Fury has promised to knock out Joshua in the first round of their highly-anticipated clash when the duo finally meet, while his eventual opponent vowed to clinch the win in six rounds as both have agreed financial terms over a two-fight deal.
