The foundation was inspired by the life of Tyler Fray, a talented musician and producer who tragically passed away in 2014 at the age of 19. His mother, Ms. Aisha Falode, a prominent sports broadcaster and Executive Committee member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), established the foundation to honor his legacy by supporting young, musically talented individuals in Nigeria.
During the scholarship award ceremony, Ms. Falode expressed her heartfelt commitment to nurturing the next generation of Nigerian music creatives, stating, “This scholarship is a chance for aspiring musicians to follow their passion and unlock their full potential.”
The Tyler Fray Foundation continues to break barriers for young talents by providing opportunities to express themselves musically and overcome challenges that hinder their dreams.
The collaboration between the Tyler Fray Foundation and Tenstrings Music Institute exemplifies a shared commitment to empowering Nigeria’s youth through music education and mentorship. As Mr. Akapo noted, “We are dedicated to providing quality music education and creating opportunities for aspiring musicians to thrive in the industry.”
The scholarship recipients are expected to commence their programs in the upcoming academic session, embarking on a journey that promises to shape their musical careers and contribute to the vibrant Nigerian music scene.
For aspiring musicians interested in future scholarship opportunities, the Tyler Fray Foundation regularly updates application details and deadlines on their website and social media platforms.
Eligibility criteria typically include Nigerian residency, age between 16 and 25, a demonstrated passion for music, financial need, and a commitment to completing the scholarship program.
The foundation’s ongoing efforts reflect a profound dedication to transforming personal tragedy into a beacon of hope and opportunity for young Nigerian musicians, ensuring that Tyler Fray’s legacy endures through the success and achievements of future generations.
