The Honourable Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare alongside his counterpart in the Women Affairs Ministry, Pauline Tallen will lead a retinue of high profile guests that include the Presidents of the world soccer governing body, FIFA, Gianni Infantino, and the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Dr Patrice Motsepe to Lagos for the opening ceremony of the first edition of the Aisha Buhari Invitational Tournament kicking off on Wednesday.
Nigeria and five other nations- Morocco, South Africa, Mali, Cameroon, and Ghana will be part of the week long competition which is now a FIFA ranking tournament.
The Executive Governor of Lagos, His Excellency Babajide Sanwoolu is the Chief Host of the historic competition now set to kick off after the arrival of all the participating teams.
The opening ceremony will be between the Super Falcons of Nigeria and the Black Eagles of Mali.
One of the star players to watch out for is the Super Falcons captain Asisat Oshoala who is a four-time African Woman footballer of the Year award winner.
