The Super Falcons defeated Uzbekistan yesterday by a lone goal to claim their second win at the on-going invitational tournament in Turkey.
Halimat Ayinde’s second-half strike was enough to see off the resolute Uzbekistan team in the floodlights.
Having her thoughts after the match, the goal scorer said it felt great to have scored.
“I’m happy. It always feels great to score and help your team. So I’m happy I have helped the team.”
The Kaduna-born former Delta Queens star thanked Nigerians for their continuous support for the team.
“Their support is our drive. I just want to thank them for their continuous support. We keep trying to win games because of their support so I just thank them for the support at home and everywhere.”
The Randy Waldrum led team will now prepare for the third match against Equatorial Guinea to be played on Tuesday by 9 am
