Anthony Joshua may be getting another title shot faster than envisage and it may come as quickly as his next fight as the rematch between him and Daniel Dubois has been tentatively fixed ,by Turki Alalshikh, for the next 5 Vs 5 due for February, Sports247 reports.
Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority said on Saturday that a great fight card is being put together that will see
the best five fighters from rival promoters Queensberry and Matchroom go against each other in a 5 Vs 5 which might include
the rematch between IBF world heavyweight boxing champion Daniel Dubois and former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua.
Alalshikh while speaking after the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol bout on Saturday night said:
“See in February again Queensberry against Matchroom, 5 vs. 5, we will finish it maybe this week with a big surprise, and then let’s see the result about this fight, the result of the big fight December 21, [Oleksandr] Usyk-Tyson [Fury],” Alalshikh”.
“Joshua, Dubois, Tyson, Usyk, everyone, everyone on the line.”
“This is what we want. We want the big fights and to see who’s really the best fighter in each division.”
Anthony Joshua was knocked out by Daniel Dubois in a fifth round before a sold out Wembley and failed in his bid to become a three-time world champion.
Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua when reacting to the rematch between the two heavyweights said, “I think it would be part of Riyadh Season in Riyadh. Riyadh Season runs from October to the end of February and early March.
“So anything within that period takes place in Riyadh. So yeah, it would be part of the Riyadh Season if it were to happen.” he told Sky Sport.
This remains tentative until all contract papers are signed and logistics are confirmed, until after then that concrete details on the fight will be known.
