Trojan FC of Ikorodu emerged victorious in an exhilarating final match against their
neighboring team, Yomaraz FC, securing a resounding 5-1 win to claim the inaugural DK
Olukoya Ibile Cup for non-league clubs in Lagos.
The highly anticipated clash took place at the Legacy Pitch of the National Stadium and
showcased Trojan’s determination right from the start. Under the guidance of coach
Olamilekan Omotosho, the team swiftly gained a commanding lead of 3-0 in the first half.
Sapele Oduayo, Agboola Usman, and Akeem Adebode were the scorers responsible for
Trojan’s early advantage. However, Yomaraz managed to reduce the deficit with a penalty
kick successfully converted by Agbo Umaru.
As the game resumed, Trojan continued their dominance and added two well-crafted goals
to their tally. Toyeeb Adebayo and Sikiru Kilani exhibited their prowess on the field,
solidifying Trojan’s victory and sealing their triumph in the tournament.
Following the intense competition, the Director of Sports for the Mountain of Fire and
Miracles Ministry, Godwin Enarkhena, accompanied by Gbajumo Afolashade Muyinatu, the
chairperson of the organizing committee, presented the prestigious DK Olukoya Ibile Cup to Trojan FC. Alongside the coveted trophy, the team also received a cash prize of N200,000 as a reward for their exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
Yomaraz FC, the valiant runners-up, were granted a consolation prize of N150,000 for their commendable efforts in reaching the final. Additionally, Ambassadors, who secured third place, were awarded N70,000 in recognition of their respectable performance.
