Transfer: Osimhen In Last Minute Move To Leave, As Napoli Confirms Transfer Request

In a desperate move to leave Italian Club Napoli FC, this summer Victor Osimhen has submitted a transfer request, Sports247 reports.

This was confirmed by the Sporting Director of the Italian Serie A club, Giovanni Manna, just before the kick off of their Coppa Italia clash with Modena on Saturday ( 10 August 2024).

Giovanni Manna spoke to SportmediaSet ahead of the tie, and confirmed the player has asked to leave club.

However, Napoli are still looking at the request as they are keen on not harming the integrity of the group, but to protect it.

“He (Osimhen) asked to leave, we are calm because we have players in the squad who can replace him in the best way. However, we do not want to harm the integrity of the group and want to preserve it. We will see what will happen in the next few days.” Mannna said.

Napoli FC once again left out the Nigerian striker in their match day squad against Modena in the Coppa Italia as the team grind out a result via a 4-3 shoot out after playing 0-0 at full time to progress to the next round.

Napoli FC’s attack without Victor Osimhen was blunt in the match , as they failed to find the back of the net despite playing 28 shots with only 6 on target.

The new transfer move by Osimhen is one of the many since the opening of the summer transfer window as the Nigeria striker has been linked with a move away from the club.

Though his agent has come out to deny all the transfers gossips around him, but this new confirmation by the club Sporting Director will alert suitors across Europe and a move may be announced soonest if his bogus 100 million Euros transfer asking price is met.

With Chelsea acquisition of Samu Omoridion, they may not be keen to pay the price tag on Osimhen.

Though Arsenal has been mentioned, a Saudi Arabia move may be the last option if he desperately wants to leave Napoli FC this summer.
