Nigerian footballer, Paul Julius, 20, died in a traffic collision in Protaras, Cyprus on Tuesday morning, Sports 247 reports.
According to local Police, the tragic event happened when Julius was car collided on the Paralimni-Protaras road
with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction around 6:30 a.m., near Pernera.
The 74-year-old driver of the other car is being treated in hospital but is not in a critical condition as per enPhileNews.
Officers are appealing for witnesses to the collision, which is being investigated by the Famagusta Traffic Department.
Meanwhile , Julius club, Enosis Neon Paralimni, expressed its deep sorrow at the unexpected loss of the young player, describing him as determined and steadfast despite challenges to join the team.
Paul Julius signed for Enosis Neon Paralimniou on July, 30th 2024, just three weeks ago.
The player once played for Gaish FC in Egypt before making the switch to Cyprus.
