Head coach of Tradesafe Sport, Ademola Adeshina has expressed satisfaction after his team defeated NNL side, Ikorodu City 1-0 in a friendly match played on Thursday morning at Igbogbo playground, Ikorodu, Lagos.
The pulsating friendly was an avenue for both teams to intensify their preparation ahead of their leagues. Tradesafe Sport are preparing for Amateur One League scheduled to commence in March, while Ikorodu City are also preparing for Nigeria Nationwide League NNL commences next month.
Usman Camera’s goal in 72nd minutes was Tradesafe Sport needed to confirm their supremacy over the home team. Although both teams missed scoring chances before Camera scored the late goal for his team
Adeshina in a chat with Journalists said having watched his team against Ikorodu City, he was optimistic that the team would do well in the forthcoming Amateur One League. He said his players were determined and played to the coach’s instructions which gave them the victory.
“It was a sweet victory for us and I want to commend my boys for their resilience, doggedness, and fighting spirit exhibited throughout the game. It shows that we are good to go and ready for amateur league,” he said.
Tradesafe Sport would resume camping next Monday at NYSC playground, Iyana-Ipaja, Alimosho. Tradesafe Sport had recruited more than ten new players to fortify the team ahead of the new season. Adeshina confirmed that he needed quality strikers to beef up his team saying that there is room for new players who want to join the team.
“Presently we are still doing our screening exercise. Many players have come to our club and we have selected the good players but we still need more players to come to our training ground and if they have the quality we are looking for, we would give them the chance to join the team,” he said.
