According to Turkish outlet Karadenizde Sonnokta, Trabzonspor is confident of completing the deal for the 30-year-old forward, who is currently surplus to requirements at Southampton.
While the Saints initially valued Onuachu at €10 million, reports suggest that the Turkish club has tabled an offer of €7 million, plus additional performance-related add-ons. With Onuachu under contract with Southampton until June 2026, the negotiations have been ongoing, but Trabzonspor is optimistic that a deal can be finalized soon.
Southampton’s stance may have softened as the transfer window draws to a close, making it more likely they will accept Trabzonspor’s latest offer.
Unlike most European leagues, the Turkish transfer window remains open for over two more weeks, giving Trabzonspor additional time to secure the deal without the pressure of a looming deadline.
Paul Onuachu., who previously enjoyed success in the Super Lig, is keen on returning to Turkey, and all parties are hopeful that the move will be completed in the coming days. Trabzonspor’s pursuit of the Nigerian striker reflects their ambition to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
