Tottenham Hotspur, a prominent English Premier League club, is reportedly looking to enhance its attacking options by pursuing a striker, Dominic Solanke who is eligible to represent Nigeria’s national team, the Super Eagles.
He continues to be linked with a departure from the Vitality Stadium in the last month of the summer transfer window.
The estimated figure of N136.2 billion (approximately £150 million) suggests that Tottenham is prepared to make a significant investment to secure this player.
The one-cap England international was the standout player for the Bournemouth team in 2023-2024, scoring nineteen goals in 38 Premier League matches, far exceeding his figures in his previous seasons in the English top flight.
Solanke scored plenty of goals during his youth team career at Chelsea and the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup Golden Ball winner has always been considered a forward who could hit double-digit figures for goals in the Premier League, but it was not until the arrival of Andoni Iraola that he exploded into life.
On the back of Solanke’s impressive form, there was an uproar for him to be included in the England squad for the 2024 European Championship, but he was behind the likes of Harry Kane, Ollie Watkins, and Ivan Toney in Gareth Southgate’s pecking order of centre forwards, so he wasn’t called up.
