The Ikon Allah Boys are aiming to wrap up the NPFL 2021/22 first round matches in far away Uyo on a clean slate as the Match Day 19 encounter pitched the Minna based outfit against battling Dakkada FC of Uyo Akwa Ibom State.
The team traveled with a strong squad after days of recovery and rigorous training ahead of the trip.
Addressing the players during one of the Club’s training sessions, Coach Abubakar Bala Mohammed charged his boys to build on Remo Stars victory after ending a spell of winless run.
“We had a good run of results when we did a four games unbeaten run against difficult teams and at difficult venues which further underlines the strength of the team and later, we experienced a blip in form which could be attributed to fatigue”.
“The league is very strong this season, teams are getting points on the road, MFM FC – the last team on the log, drew in Aba, Abuja and Lafia which shows that no team is push over.”
The Ikon Allah Boys are the most traveled team of all the 20 clubs in the league, having transversed between Ilorin, Abuja and now Kaduna for its home matches, in what one could say have had an effect on the performance of the team this season. But the technical crew are working to ensure stability in terms of approach to matches and rotation of players to giving them the necessary rest and recovery.
Dakkada FC have lost twice (Wikki Tourists & Gombe United) and drew once (Enugu Rangers) at home this season, the team occupies the 18th position on the log while the visitor are placed on 15th.
