Niger Tornadoes succumbed to a staggering Ubong Friday’s heroics who helped his team to a surprising 4-1 thumping of the visitors.

The Ikon Allah Boys went into the encounter buoyed with a decent run of results but capitulated to the hosts who are desperately in need of results to beat the drop.
Ubong Friday heads in the curtain raiser for the hosts off a rebound after goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo spilled Seyi Oguntayo’s shot as the ball sleeps into the net.
Just few minutes before the break, Osoba Kabir finds space outside the box and powers home a shot into the top corner of the net to double the lead.
The hosts went into the break with two goals cushion.
Second half restarted with the Ikon Allah Boys approaching the game with caution.
The hosts would however grabbed their third goal after Ubong Friday connected Sani Suleiman’s spectacular cross from a corner kick into the net with the time at 70th minute.
Any hope left of a come back was dashed when Salomon Chigoziem was adjudged to have been brought down in the box by goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo and Ubong Friday scored from the spot to grab his hat-trick at the 79th minute.
Clinton Jephta reduced the tally with a simple tap in from inside the box to get a consolation goal for the Ikon Allah Boys
Despite the defeat, Tornadoes only dropped a place down the log from 9th place to 10th heading into next weekend’s encounter against Doma United.
