Coach Abubakar Bala has insisted that his Niger Tornadoes squad can win this year’s edition of the Ogunjobi Gold Cup Tourney in Ilorin.
The Ikon Allah boys recorded their first victory after they defeated FC Ebedei 2-0 in the second game of MatchDay 2.
“From all the games I have seen in the tourney, Tornadoes is among the top contender for the title if all goes well.
“We’re in this pre-season tourney with a team that has a mix of those that featured in the CAF Confederation Cup and those we intend to sign for the new football season.
“With the two game we have played and 4points recorded, my team is improving and growing confidence.”
His assistant Umar Farouk ‘Master’ shares same thought after he said: “The objective of any team that takes part in any tournament is to win it.
“We have made a statement with the 2-0 victory against FC Ebedei, that winning form we need to take into our subsequent games.”
The Aiteo Cup runners-up will host FC Yobo on Saturday in the first game (8:am) of MatchDay 3.
